Iron Lynx gets its new chapter underway with solid Rolex 24 At Daytona qualifying session

Today, Italian racing team, Iron Lynx and Iron Dames have successfully completed the Rolex 24 At Daytona qualifying session at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, with all three Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s showing promise ahead of the race next weekend.

Officially marking the kick-off of the 2023 season, the #63 car driven by the Lamborghini Factory Driver, Andrea Caldarelli, put in a strong drive in the 15-minute qualifying round to bring the car in a respectable 6th in the GTD Pro class.

In the GTD class, Franck Perera showed good pace putting the #19 car 10th place in class. Meanwhile, heading up the only all-female line-up in this year’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, Rahel Frey brought the #83 car past the chequered flag in 15th place in class.

Iron Lynx Team Principal, Andrea Piccini said: “It is great to kick off our 2023 season here at Daytona. It is such an iconic race and this is the end of our first week here for the ROAR where we have focused on getting to know the new cars and settling into the IMSA paddock.

“I’d like to thank the team for their hard work and effort in getting us here for the race next weekend, I am really looking forward to it and I wish us all the best of luck.”

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 At Daytona will start at 1.40pm ET on Saturday 28th January.
