Iron Lynx and Iron Dames announce biggest 24 Hours of Le Mans entry to date

Today, Italian racing team, Iron Lynx has announced its driver line-up that is set to race in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans at the Circuit de la Sarthe on the 11^th and 12^th June as part of this season’s FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The entry includes the only all-female Iron Dames team on this year’s grid.

Fielding an impressive four cars in the LMGTE category, the team will be looking to make further progress after last year’s podium and fourth place finishes in what is a strong assembly of drivers that will be tackling the streets of Le Mans for the 90th running of the great race.

FIA World Endurance Championship driver, Claudio Schiavoni, will be driving in the #60 car with Raffaele Giammaria and Alessandro Balzan. German racer Pierre Ehret partners with Christian Hook and Nico Varrone in the #75 machine. Meanwhile, Richard Heistand, Matteo Cressoni and Giancarlo Fisichella join forces in the #80 car.

Iron Dames Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey will be driving the #85 car for a second consecutive year, looking to make further progress on their impressive 2022 campaigns so far, as well as being the only all-female driver line-up at this year’s event.

Meanwhile, in the LMP2 category, the PREMA Orlen team will enter Le Mans for the first time with the #9 car, driven by Robert Kubica, Louis Deletraz, and Lorenzo Colombo.

Iron Lynx Team Principal, Andrea Piccini, said:

“After last year’s third and fourth place finishes in the LMGTE category, we’re feeling positive as a team and we’re confident in our ability to challenge once more. We have a strong mix of new and experienced drivers among our four-car entry.

“It’s a great opportunity for everyone involved and we’re ready to use the knowledge we gained last year to further improve and fight for the win at our most important race of the year.”

The 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place at the Circuit de la Sarthe on the 11^th and 12^th June.
