The Iron Dames Rahel Frey’s experience of the 24H Daytona didn’t satisfied completely the expectation. The Swiss of the FIA WIM (Women In Motorsport) programme has been forced to pull out, not before showing her talent and her extraordinary determination.

Rahel raced on the renowned track in Florida together with Katherine Legge, Christina Nielsen e Tatiana Calderon, in the sphere of the prestigious project GEAR Racing (Girl Empowerment Around Racing).

In the long weekend at Daytona, The girls of GEAR Racing started positively and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #19 has been driven optimally, always standing together the other rivals of the category, the GTD.
In the fourth round of the free practice, Rahel Frey was the fastest of the team, setting a fantastic  1.47.337, the ninth of her category. In the qualifying, the girls of GEAR Racing gained the fourteenth place in the category, starting from the seventeenth row of the grid of the 2020 24 H of Daytona.

These kind of races, we know, always hold many surprises and, after having passed the night uninjured, the Gear Racing team unfortunately had to leave the race at the fourteenth hour.

Despite the disappointment of the retirement, the weekend at Daytona increases Rahel’s wealth of experience, who said after the race:

Last weekend at Daytona was simply amazing, first of all because we were in really good hands with Gear racing powered by GRT together with Lamborghini.

We always had a fantastic support on the track and off the track, also by all the fans. Furthermore, we showed a strong speed throughout all the sessions, unfortunately the luck was simply not on our side. In the end, we gained valuable experience and we can be happy of this! Daytona has got one more big fan,  it‘s me.
