The long wait is over. This weekend Iron Lynx and Iron Dames will join the fray at Le Castellet (France) with five Ferrari, two in the European Le Mans Series and three in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
The official training tests, that took place on July 14-15-16 at Paul Ricard in preparation for the races of this weekend, gave positive feedback. The Iron Lynx and Iron Dames are confident of a successful outcome considering what was demonstrated in the days of testing.
During these days of testing, we made a good training: both the crews reached the goal we set, going beyond all the expectations. Claudio was fast and steady in the traffic, he’s never lost the best rhythm. Deborah scored excellent times, Giacomo and Rino had a good pace in every session. The Iron Dames in the ELMS made a fantastic job and improved constantly.
Andrea Piccini, driver in charge and Team Responsible together with Sergio Pianezzola and Giacomo Piccini, doesn’t hide his optimism and concludes with these words:
The team worked very hard, we were able to run 1000 kilometres in just one day, here at Paul Ricard. Our rivals of Porsche and Aston Martin had a tactical approach, after all we made the same. The values in the field will be seen very soon, already in qualifying and then, obviously, during the race, when we have to show to our best qualities.
In the European Le Mans Series, the Ferrari 488 GTE have been entrusted to the crew made up of Claudio Schiavoni, Sergio Pianezzola and Andrea Piccini.
In the Michelin Le Mans Cup are lined up two Ferrari 488 GT3: one entrusted to Giacomo Piccini – reigning champion – and Rino Mastronardi, the other to C. Schiavoni and A. Piccini.
